THE PROMPTS

Day 1: Serendipity
Day 2: Momentous
Day 3: Transcend
Day 4: Whimsical
Day 5: Heartstrings
Day 6: Faded
Day 7: Seasons

You guys sent in some great ideas! It took us hours to decide which ones to choose. But in the end, we went with the most creative, abstract, and conceptual themes. Simpler themes would have lead to a hundred of the same drawing, but the words you all sent in are GIANT umbrellas to much smaller prompts.

For instance, many of you sent in ideas like nostalgia, time, memory, future, generations, etc. and momentous can cover all of that. Everyone wins with this theme.

Then we have Seasons, which was chosen based on popular demand.

Just for clarification,

Serendipity: Discovering something nice while trying to find something else.
Momentous: An event of great importance or consequence, especially when considering the future.
Transcend: To surpass a limit or achievement. To go beyond your limits.
Whimsical: To be playful/unpredictable especially in an appealing or amusing way.
Heartstrings: The deepest feelings. The Strongest sense of affection. (or you can be literal and look at a medical dictionary...)
Faded: To disappear or gradually die. To become dull. To lose color.
Seasons: Periods of the year.

The great thing about these beautiful words is that they have so many meanings. If you don't like the way I defined them, that's okay! Pop them into google and pick a different definition. You are free to interpret them anyway you want. I have so much faith in you guys and your creativity. You've created such beautiful work in the past. I can't wait to see what you create inspired by these fantastic prompts.





IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER

You may not submit any prompt before the assigned date (However, you may submit things late). The "Zutara Week 2012" folder will be locked until the first day of Zutara Week.

All submissions will have to be approved before submitted so don't panic if your work doesn't show up in the gallery right away!

There will be a new journal each day of Zutara Week as a simple reminder of the prompt of the day and to present features from the previous day.

For those submitting AMV's, you may take a screencap from your AMV, submit it into the folder, and link to it in your artist's comments. OR another option is to submit your work to the ZW Tumblr.

The Submission button on the Zutara Week Tumblr will be available on the first day of Zutara Week. Everyone can submit their work and we will select the pieces to be shown on the blog. You do NOT need a tumblr account to submit your work.


  



Now that we have all of that settled, Windy and I need some help!

In the past, the best pieces have been selected by the administrators and featured in the journal. We want to do something a little different this year. Windy-Asylum and I have talked it over and we decided that we want to go about this Daily Deviation style.
We want you guys to feel involved with the decisions this group makes. So, like you would do with Daily Deviations, send us suggestions of your favorite piece from each day.

For example, people will submit their work all day Sunday, July 15th. Throughout the day, send us notes of your favorite artwork (Drawings, poems, fanfictions, AMVs, sculptures, Cosplay etc). On Monday, July 16th, we will feature the more popular pieces on the journal and also on the Zutara Week Tumblr. Then, on day 2, tell us your favorite pieces from that day and we will feature them on day 3. And so on, and so on.

The tumblr will also feature a lot of artwork through the day, so don't worry. Even if no one suggests you as their favorite, there is still a big chance that you will be featured on the blog.

We are scouting for volunteers to read writings! Zutarian writers come in bunches, but they always seem to get neglected. Not on purpose, though. It's just a lot to read! So we would like to have a team of readers to help us out. The requirements to be a part of the team are 1) Be able to read 2) Have a general interest in fanfiction/poetry etc. 3) Tell Windy and me which writings you think deserve a feature.

We will also be reading the work, but it will help us tremendously if the Team of Readers could assemble. Send a note to this group if you are interested.

One final thing: The Zutara Week Tumblr needs to look gorgeous! If you are interested in designing the blog's icon and background, please send send me a note on DeviantART or a message on tumblr so that we may discuss it. Please have examples of your work ready to show me. Any work that you do for the blog will have proper credit. Once again, if you're interested in designing the ZW Tumblr, send ME a note- not the group!
